St Croix Looses an Icon

If you’ve ever spent any time in St Croix on the boardwalk, you surely have seen, if not met, Miss Judy. She had a cart (i believe it was a baby carriage) and sold candy, peanuts, chewing gum, lighters, hats, all kind of fun stuff at a much higher than retail price – but no one cared and everyone bought things from her, and bought her beers, and danced with her, and gave and received the best hugs. She always, and I mean always, had a smile on her beautiful face. She served as the Grand Marshall of the St Patrick’s Day parade on more than one occasion and was loved by all. Miss Judy, unfortunately, passed away recently at the ripe old age of 92. She will be sorely missed. (Note: 3 of these photos were taken by others and posted on Facebook).
