Happy Summer!

It’s the time of bar-b-ques and cookouts. Of cool beers and green grass. Of beach trips and late nights sitting on the porch. My favorite time of year – SUMMER!! Of course, if you live in St Croix, it’s summer ALL year! We do actually experience seasons, but just gradients of warmth – it’s never COLD!

Summer is a great time to come to St Croix. There aren’t as many people here on island and there are still a lot of fun activities to take part in. Art walks, Live music, festivals, and of course lots of water activities! And ohhh the water feels soooo good in the summer here!!!

Summer is also a time when those of us who live here take time to experience other places. So far, I’ve been hiking above the Rhine river in Germany and sleeping in castles built in the 13th century, exploring the island of Fuerteventura (Canary Islands), exploring the ancient seaport of Cadiz Spain, watching dancing horses in Jerez de la Frontera Spain, shopping in the bazaars of Tangier, and overlooking Andalusian fields in Ronda Spain. Life is good! I even got to see the port where Christopher Columbus embarked on his journey in 1493 to explore the West Indies and discover St Croix! And while all of these places are absolutely gorgeous and the history is fascinating, there’s no place like our little Rock! St Croix is very special! Unparalleled beauty, great food, wonderful music, and best of all, the warmest, nicest, most fun loving people in the world! Of course, I guess I’m a little biased!
