President’s Day weekend is when St Croix hosts their annual Agricultural Fair. It’s so much fun to go and see all the livestock, fruits and veggies, plants, crafts, and cultural activities and culinary delights at the fairgrounds, an event that draws people from many neighboring islands as well as the mainland.

The students at John H. Woodsen School built a compact growing system, self-sustainable, that included solar power, hydroponic plants, and tilapia pond. They were so proud (and should be!) and excited to share what they have done – and they shared some of their harvest with us as well! These kids are pioneering farming for the future!
