Golf Anyone?

St Croix is home to three golf courses; one on the east end (9 hole course, the Reef), one just east of Christinasted (The Buccaneer), and one on the west side (Carambola). All three are fabulous courses, with lots to offer!

The Reef (above) is located in Teague Bay, with a fabulous view of Buck Island and the Caribbean sea, in addition to a Par 35 Nine hole golf course, the Reef offers “The Iguana” – the first Caribbean 18 hole disc golf course! Rental discs are available! There’s also a driving range, tennis, and pickleball too!

Kevin Ferris has recently been named Gold Pro and is giving lessons. Intro to pickleball is Thursdays at 3:00, Twilight Golf start is at 3:30 and it’s $20 to walk $30 with cart. No tee time necessary. There’s also a pro shop with gear and goodies! One of the island’s best beachside restaurants is across the street serving Sunday brunch and dinner.

The par-72 Carambola Golf Course (above) was built by Laurence Rockefeller as the centerpiece of a luxury Caribbean resort complex. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., one of the most highly respected designers of the 20th century, Carambola opened in 1966 to rave reviews and was considered by the master designer himself to be one of his finest courses.

Winding through a lush, tropical valley on the northwest side of the island of St. Croix, the Carambola Golf & Country Club is truly one of the great treasures of American golf and the finest course in the Virgin Islands. This challenging, spectacular Trent Jones signature course is a Caribbean gem and a “must play” for any true lover of the game of golf. Carambola has received a four-star rating from GOLF Magazine.

Facilities for golfers include an expanded clubhouse, a practice putting green, a driving range, restaurant, bar, and fully stocked pro shop.

Tee times are required and can be reserved by calling the resort or on their website.
