WEST

Victoria House Hotel

Historic Caribbean charm is what you will enjoy throughout our 22,000 square foot island property. Uniquely situated on the waterfront in the vibrant downtown of Frederiksted on the West Coast of St. Croix, you will be delighted by the sweeping water views and spectacular sunsets every evening. Enjoy some of the best beaches on the island, and celebrate paradise in the many local restaurants and bars, all within walking distance. Each of our studios and apartments are fully equipped to anticipate your every need.

Victoria House was built in the late 18th century, and has housed many prominent Frederiksted merchants and citizens. Its distinctive gingerbread trim was added after the house was partially burnt in the “Fireburn” labor insurrection of 1878. The Gardine Family has owned it since 1946. Victoria House has recently been lovingly renovated and restored, preserving as many of the original features as possible.

The Fred – Now under new management, the Fred continues to delight visitors and locals alike!

Named after King Frederik V of Denmark (also the namesake for the town of Frederiksted where the property is located), the Fred is a new beachfront, boutique resort, spa, restaurant, bar AND a gift shop all wrapped up in a tiny little jewel box! It’s the only beach front resort that’s also located in town and the first new hotel to open on St. Croix since 1986. The Fred has already received numerous awards including “Best New Boutique Resort” by Caribbean Journal and “Best New Business/Spa” by the readers of the VI Daily News!

St. Croix is well known as the culinary island AND the most historically significant island in the Caribbean. The Fred is a magnificent collection of 6 beautifully renovated and preserved historic structures, each with its own unique personality and story. For example, Totten House is named after early civil rights leader Ashley Totten and it is the signature structure on the property. It was originally constructed in 1790 but don’t let the property’s rich history fool you, The Fred offers the very latest in modern travel conveniences including free Wi-Fi throughout the property, even on the beach.

Guests can “lime” on the beach or lounge next to one of our two, saltwater pools, swim or walk to the pier, or stroll to the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts or any one of our various local restaurants, shops, and bars. Enjoy a fruity cocktail by our bar and take in another breathtaking sunset while enjoying a meal in our barefoot chic restaurant that helps contribute to the famous “West Is Best” reputation of Frederiksted.”
