St Croix Island Life Real Estate News: Buck Island Staff Meeting

Many people ask me how I stay connected to my agents when I’m away on vacation. In this day and age, technology makes that very easy – I Skype in for our weekly meetings on Tuesday, and have frequent phone, email and text conversations with each of them, and of course with my clients. However, one day this month, I got the message that my team wanted to have their meeting without me. Here’s an account of their “staff meeting” that I hope you’ll enjoy as much as I did! Description by our beloved Joel Ureta, who is finally back with us after a long medical absence:

Perfect day for office meeting! Getting to see the myriad of blue and green colors of the sky and water on our way to Buck Island reminded us that we are in a very special place! (Sure beat sitting in the office!) I like to call it “our playground and special back yard” due to proximity and ease of getting there from Green Cay Marina. It took us all of 10-15 minutes to get there and that’s taking the scenic route. It took us longer to get home, but that was by our choice of not wanting to rush back to the dock. We were hoping to see the same large sea turtle chilling out that we saw earlier on the way out to Buck Island.

Yes, we did talk about real estate, believe it or not. We talked about certain property listings, selling and marketing ideas, and trouble shooting problem situations. Some of us even took calls!

Then, Joe pulled out the bbq grill, Kevin brought out the hotdogs, we munched on devil eggs and Mango salsa/jalapeño dip & chips. Of course we had to wash down the hot dogs with a few cold beers. Afterward, some of us went for a walk on the beach and to mingle with some of the other boat captains and crew, while others went for a swim in bathwater-temperature and gin-clear water. Best memory was watching Lisa enjoy teaching her granddaughter how to swim. I bet Delanie will never forget her Buck island trip with grandma Lisa!!

This is one of the many reasons we love St. Croix so much. It’s about the memories we make!”

I’m thinking this team is on to something. Perhaps we should have ALL our staff meetings at Buck Island!!
